The Intention
The Intention began as the Mark Nanni Trio in 1996 as an original jazz combo. Over the years, there have been personnel changes, a change of name to The Intention, and radical changes in genre. While the band will always at its core be a jazz group in the tradition of a modern Bill Evans Trio due to its conversational, interactive improvisational style, they now stretch into all manner of Jam/Classic Rock and original material. Regardless of the style, the collective improvisational style remains as the thread uniting all of the different genres played. This is a band with years of chemistry under its belt now featuring Mark Nanni on keyboards, Josh Dekaney on percussion, and Don Martin on bass.
After over a two year hiatus from public performance, The Intention takes the stage at Oswego Music Hall as a part of the #JazzByTheLake series, curated and booked by David P. Kaspar II.

A "special edition" of The Intention from Shifty's in Syracuse on December 21, 2019. I had somehow forgotten to tell my band of this booking and was forced to scramble. To my luck and delight, two young Syracuse natives who each relocated to Nashville a few years ago to persue their music careers were home for the holidays.
